Eylemler, \u00c7izgiler ve Mesafeler
\nActs, Lines & Distances – A Lecture at AURA<\/h4>\n

Hem aralar\u0131ndaki ili\u015fkiler \u00fczerinden anlat\u0131lan, hem de bir anlat\u0131 ritmi sa\u011flayan, hem mimari olan hem de olmayan 3 \u015fey<\/em>: D\u00f6n\u00fc\u015ft\u00fcr\u00fcc\u00fc eylemler, bir kay\u0131t arac\u0131 olarak \u00e7izgiler, \u015fahsi ve \u00f6l\u00e7\u00fclebilir t\u00fcrde bir tak\u0131m mesafeler. Bu mesafelerde ger\u00e7ekle\u015fenler, ger\u00e7ekle\u015fmeyenler ve tekrardan birbirine ba\u011flananlar.<\/p>\n

Bunlar bir manada bir mimar\u0131n kendi yolculu\u011funa dair bir s\u00fcredir tutulmayan baz\u0131 gezi notlar\u0131; daha genel bir manada ise \u2018anlamaya\u2019 ve bir \u015feye \u2018ba\u015fka yerden\u2019 bakabilmeye dair bir sunumun par\u00e7alar\u0131. Three things<\/em>, both architectural and certainly not, forming a narrational rhythm and also told in their keen relationships: Acts that are transformative, lines that work as recording devices, and some distances that are of both personal and measurable sorts. Those happening and not happening within these distances, and those appear to re-connect after all.<\/p>\n

In a way, these can be seen as some logs of the journey of an architect, not kept for some time; or, in a more general sense, as the pieces of a lecture about \u2018understanding\u2019 things and glancing at them from \u2018another location\u2019. Or, as in the words of Elizabeth Bishop, they are just some moments and stories of \u201cseeing the sun the other way around\u201d \u2013 of finding distances to make new meanings.<\/p>\n

\u00c7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131n\u0131 \u0130stanbul\u2019da s\u00fcrd\u00fcren mimar, tasar\u0131mc\u0131 ve akademisyen Ali Dur, lisans e\u011fitimini \u0130stanbul Teknik \u00dcniversitesi\u2019nde tamamlam\u0131\u015f ve The Cooper Union\u2019da master derecesi alm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Ali 2008 y\u0131l\u0131 Archiprix Birincilik \u00d6d\u00fcl\u00fc sahibidir. \u00c7e\u015fitli kurum ve platformlarda at\u00f6lyeler ger\u00e7ekle\u015ftiren, sergiler d\u00fczenleyen ve davetli sunumlar yapan Ali, bir yandan mimari tasar\u0131m ve ara\u015ft\u0131rma \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131n\u0131 kendi prati\u011fi olan \u201cDURSTUDIO\u201d alt\u0131nda y\u00fcr\u00fctmektedir. Ali Dur is an architect, designer and an academic based in Istanbul. He got his bachelor degree at Istanbul Technical University, and continued his studies at The Cooper Union, in a post-professional master program. He is the first-prize recipient of Archiprix Turkey, in 2008. Ali conducts workshops, curates exhibitions and gives lectures in various organizations and venues \u2013 alongside pursuing architectural and research work under his own practice \u201cDURSTUDIO\u201d. He is also a full-time faculty at Kadir Has University, and a PhD candidate in the Architectural Design program in \u0130T\u00dc.<\/p>\n
