Fin sanat\u00e7\u0131 Seppo Salminen, heykel, enstalasyon, performans, video ve foto\u011fraf alanlar\u0131n\u0131 bir araya getiren \u00fcretimleriyle tan\u0131n\u0131yor. 2015 y\u0131l\u0131nda yay\u0131mlanan \u201cMoments of Seeing\u201d<\/strong> adl\u0131 kitab\u0131yla Finlandiya Sanat Derne\u011fi taraf\u0131ndan Y\u0131l\u0131n Sanat Kitab\u0131<\/em> \u00f6d\u00fcl\u00fcne lay\u0131k g\u00f6r\u00fclm\u00fc\u015ft\u00fcr.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AURA Istanbul is delighted to host Seppo Salminen<\/strong> as the visiting instructor of the studio \u201cArt and Architecture: Boundaries\u201d<\/em>, led by H\u00fcseyin Yanar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Join us on Wednesday, October 22 at 7:00 PM<\/strong> for an AURA Suare*<\/strong> talk titled \u201cTowards the Void: About Seeing and Breathing\u201d<\/em>, where Salminen will invite the audience to reflect on perception, space, and the act of seeing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finnish artist Seppo Salminen is known for his multidisciplinary practice encompassing sculpture, installation, performance, video, and photography. His 2015 book \u201cMoments of Seeing\u201d<\/strong> was awarded the Art Book of the Year<\/em> by the Finnish Art Association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Salminen previously joined Cumartesi Auras\u0131 <\/strong>conference in 2022 and the Art and Architecture<\/strong> panel at MSGS\u00dc in 2024, and now returns to reconnect with Istanbul\u2019s art and architecture community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*<\/strong>The event will be held in English. No simultaneous translation will be provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seppo Salminen<\/strong> (b. 1956 H\u00e4meenlinna) lives and works in Helsinki. Since his first solo exhibition in Helsinki 1983, Seppo Salminen’s practise has combined sculpture, installation, performances, videos and photos. His works have been exhibited both in Finland and internationally. H\u00e4meenlinna Art Museum organized a retrospective exhibition of Salminen’s works in 2008 and they are included in several collections, Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma among others. In 2015, he received the Finnish Art Association’s Art Book of the Year-award for the book \u201cMoments of Seeing\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to his artistic practise, Salminen worked as a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts at Helsinki Art University 1998-2011. He has been a coordinator in International Art Universities Research Pavilion in Venice Biennale in the years 2015, 2017 and 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2021 he was awarded the national supplementary artist pension.
